Is the new Arctic a source of TOXic mercury?

This project tackles global mercury contamination by studying how climate change and permafrost thaw release mercury trapped in Arctic reservoirs. It aims to develop models and acquire new observational data to plan for and avoid risks to sensitive Arctic ecosystems and societies through mercury exposure.
